Week 1B: Commented Blogs

This week I commented on three blogs so far. Dustin Miller, Alexa K and Wendee Paul. I had commented on the template choices and how it makes the reader feel while reading other's blogs.

Week #4 Post 1

Two websites I choose to comment on that could have problems for visitors are www.jamilin.com and www.gatesnfences.com . First thing that I noticed on opening these websites were the style, in a nutshell it is a brochure style, where there is a lot of static content and heavy description of the products or services offered by respective businesses. It made me feel like, I need to get out of these websites right away. There is no stickiness to them. Three potential problematic areas would be:   No clear Concept and Contrast, Hierarchy and Ease of use. No clear concept and contrast : Upon close observation on both these web sites we notice there is no clear concept of what products/services they are offering. “Jamilin” website has two different menus one with different colors, which I believe are the services they offer. Week #2A Social Media for Business or Personal use

Social media is a communication medium through which people can share, discuss, modify content that is generated by other users and individual self. There are many different social media tools, some of which work better on personal level and others more towards businesses interested in promoting their company, products, brands, events and any other information pertaining to business development. Social media platforms that are geared towards personal use can be Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and Google+. People tend to use Facebook mostly to communicate with friends and relatives who share same interests and tastes. Instagram is created to share and show power of pictures. Week #10 Post 1

A blog is an interesting way to start conversation that has value and humans are very drawn to content that is expressing emotions on a topic or their personal experiences regarding that topic. Let’s say I have a business either I could do aggressive marketing by posting ads on TV or radio, promoting various discounts to bring customers there by increasing sales. This method does not involve two-way communication, its only one-sided conversation or bombardment of “come buy our stuff”. Other way would be conversing with people telling them our side of the story by personal experiences, such as how we traveled to various places to see where our products are coming from, who our suppliers are, and their life experiences and emotions will surely make readers or people connect more easily.
